The Simraceway Performance Driving Center today announced it is relaunching the popular Mechanics Training Program (MTP), which was last run in 2009.
The program, whose close ties to the motorsports industry has seen the majority of its 2,700+ graduates find employment at all levels of IndyCar, NASCAR, IMSA, SCCA, and vintage racing teams, as well as major chassis and engine suppliers, has been completely updated to reflect recent technological changes.
Race fans can take home a piece of the action on race day, Aug. 24, at the Speedway Children's Charities (SCC) charity auction. With over twenty-five incredible items, including "Ride of a Lifetime" experiences with top INDYCAR drivers, there is sure to be something for everyone.
The action gets under way in the INDYCAR Fan Village at 10:15 a.m. for the auction preview, and the gavel drops at 11 a.m. for the live auction. Full Story

The Pirelli World Challenge Championships continues its 25th anniversary 2014 season at Sonoma Raceway, returning to the challenging and scenic 12-turn, 2.38 mile road course. The series' GT, GT-A and GTS classes, will compete in two races, one on Saturday and one on Sunday.
