SONOMA, Calif. (Aug. 25, 2009) - Infineon Raceway, for years the last stop on the Western Swing for the NHRA Full Throttle Drag Racing Series, will be the middle event during the three-race stretch during the 2010 race season, officials announced today.
Infineon Raceway will host the NHRA for the 23rd consecutive year in 2010 with the FRAM Autolite NHRA Nationals, July 16-18. The Western Swing will begin in Seattle in 2010, followed by stops in Sonoma and Denver. The race weekend in Sonoma will feature professional drag racing in the Top Fuel, Funny Car, Pro Stock and Pro Stock Motorcycle divisions.
"July is drag racing month at Infineon Raceway and I know our fans will be marking their calendars for the next explosive visit of the Full Throttle Drag Racing Series," said Steve Page, president & general manager of Infineon Raceway.
The NHRA will feature a 24-race schedule in 2010, with Infineon Raceway being the only stop in Northern California. The Sonoma stop will be the 15th race of the year for the NHRA Full Throttle Drag Racing Series.

This event has a strong history of producing exciting finishes and has proven to be a critical stop in the NHRA Full Throttle Drag Racing Series as our teams compete for the 10 coveted positions in NHRA's six-race championship playoff, the Countdown to 1."
The Infineon Raceway drag strip has become one of the quickest and fastest in the country as its located just 15 feet above sea level and boasts a 660-foot concrete launch. In 2009, Antron Brown (Top Fuel) became just the seventh driver in NHRA history to complete a sweep of the Western Swing. Other winners included Tim Wilkerson (Funny Car), Jason Line (Pro Stock) and Andrew Hines (Pro Stock Motorcycles).
