Comedian/actor Adam Carolla will trade Hollywood for the Sonoma Valley, at least for one weekend, at the Sonoma Historic Motorsports Festival at Sonoma Raceway, May 18-19.

Carolla, one of the most versatile men in Hollywood, currently hosts The Adam Carolla Show, judged by the Guinness Book of World Records as the most downloaded podcast on the planet. He is the author of the New York Times bestseller Not Taco Bell Material, and is well known for co-hosting the radio and MTV show Loveline. Adam also co-created and co-starred in the hit Comedy Central shows The Man Show (1999-2003) and Crank Yankers (2002-2007).

Carolla also has another talent, driving a racecar, and it will be on display on the 12-turn, 2.52-mile road course at the Sonoma Historic Motorsports Festival behind the wheel of his 1971 Datsun 510. And this is no gimmick. Carolla took back-to-back checkers at the Toyota Pro/Celebrity Race at the Long Beach Grand Prix in 2012 and 2013.

Race fans will not only see this Hollywood star, but the raceway is offering a special ticket package for Saturday, May 18, which includes a race-day ticket, plus access to a special Q&A with Carolla (adamcarolla.com) and an autograph for just $45.

“I had a great time at the track last year, and the crowd was wonderful,” said Carolla, who will race at Sonoma Raceway for the second time. “It’s going to be a great time, and I’m really looking forward to going back.”

Carolla will complete a double-header that weekend, as he and Dr. Drew Pinsky join up for the “Adam Carolla & Dr. Drew Reunion Tour” at the Uptown Theatre in Napa on Saturday, May 18. The pair co-hosted Loveline from 1995 to 2005, providing a decade of hilarious love advice to listeners across the country. Fans and newcomers alike will enjoy the great stories and antics of Loveline and have the opportunity to participate in a live audience interaction. The show begins at 8 p.m. and tickets are just $40 at www.uptowntheatrenapa.com

The race weekend will feature more than 400 historic race cars on the twisting circuit, plus your race-day ticket will get you admission into the popular Wine Country Pavilion, where you will get a limited number of wine and food samplings. It will make for a perfect day – or weekend – in Wine Country.
