New Yamaha WR250 Could Be Yours at Stanton Benefit Track Day in Sonoma
A brand-new Yamaha WR250 could be yours as 3J's Motorcycle Track Days hosts a benefit motorcycle track day at Sonoma Raceway for injured Bay Area racer Dave Stanton on Monday, Nov. 18.
The Yamaha WR250, one of the most advanced 250cc dual-purpose bikes on the market, will be raffled off during the motorcycle track day, which includes a full day of riding on the 12-turn road course, a catered lunch, T-shirt and evening reception. The winning ticket for the Yamaha will be selected during the evening reception. Tickets to win the Yamaha are $25 each or five tickets for $100 and can be purchased by contacting Jenah Smith at 707-933-3990 or . Tickets can also be purchased at the event. Raffle winners need not be present to win.
The benefit will also feature a huge raffle and silent auction of more than 100 items, including:

Tickets for the raffle are five for $10, 10 for $20, 35 for $50 or a "stretch" for $100.
The entire event is a benefit for Stanton, a Bay Area resident and long-time American Federation of Motorcyclists (AFM) competitor, who suffered a crushed spine and internal injuries as the result of a racing crash on June 2.The accident left Stanton paralyzed from the chest down, and he faces ongoing challenges in recovery, including financial concerns. The 3J's Track Day will work to raise as much money as possible for Stanton and his family.

3J's Motorcycle Days is run by Jere Starks, vice president of facilities at Sonoma Raceway, Jenah Smith, operations logistics manager at Sonoma Raceway and longtime rider and Santa Rosa resident Jim Randolph. Together, the group hosts one or more motorcycle track day benefits each year, which have raised more than $275,000 for worthy causes since 2003.
"Dave has been active in the motorcycle and racing community for a long time," said Starks. "He's now a paraplegic after being an athlete, and the racing community and facility is stepping up during a time when he needs our help."
