Ever dreamed of taking your car out for a spin on the Sonoma Raceway road course? Of getting a racer's-eye view of the serpentine circuit? Now is your chance, as the Sonoma Chapter of Speedway Children's Charities (SCC) offers its first-ever Laps for Charity event on Saturday, Jan. 18.

For the first time, race fans and community members can enjoy a few laps around the challenging track, all in the name of charity.

This unique experience includes pre-lap instruction with professional racing instructors, three lead-follow laps around the 12-turn, 2.52-mile circuit and a picture of your car on track. Cost is just $100, and all proceeds benefit kids in need through Sonoma County youth organizations.

A limited number of spots are now available between 11:30 a.m. - 4 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 18. Participants must be 18 years old or older, and passengers will not be permitted. All cars must have mufflers and pass a basic inspection.

To reserve your spot today, contact Laurence Lea at 707-933-3927.
