Drag racers took the opportunity to warm up for this weekend’s PINKS All Out drag racing event at the Wednesday Night Drags, Sept. 15. Many new faces were on hand including drivers from Oregon, Nevada and a large contingent from Southern California, but when the smoke cleared, it was mostly local drivers battling it out in the final rounds of each of the six contested classes.
The big winners were Redwood City’s Jack Nilson (Jack Pot); Novato’s Doug Love (Motorcycle), Brad Bowen (Street) and Sean Cleary (High School); and Santa Rosa’s Don Waltenspiel (Sport Street).
Wednesday Night Drags racing returns to Infineon Raceway Sept. 22. Gates open at 3 p.m. with racing spanning from 5 p.m.-10 p.m. Cost is $25 for competitors, $15 for students with their high school identification card and $10 for spectators
As a reminder, Infineon Raceway will host a Summit ET bracket race on Sunday, Sept. 19, which is open to everyone. Gates open at 7 a.m. each day with timed runs beginning at 8:15 a.m. For more information, visit www.infineonraceway.com/youcanrace.
