The Fire/Safety Team provides on-track fire suppression, vehicle extrication and EMS services for all major motor sport events at the Raceway. Those events include the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series, IZOD IndyCar® Series, AMA motorcycles, and NHRA Full Throttle Drag Racing Series. Team members also provide on-track protection for track rental events including the Simraceway Racing School, Shelby Club, and AFM.
In addition to providing services to raceway competitors, the Fire/Safety Team works closely with Sonoma Valley Fire/Med, Sonoma County Fire and REACH to provide off-track fire suppression and EMS assistance to raceway guests in seating areas, campgrounds and parking lots.
The Fire/Safety Team has over 100 active members from various fire agencies throughout California, Nevada, Oregon and Utah.
Members come from a variety of fire service backgrounds including wild land, municipality and volunteer. The majority of the members are active firefighters, paramedics and EMTs. Retired fire fighters and those wishing to start a career in the fire service are also welcome.
The Raceway Fire/Safety Team provides for the safety and welfare of all Raceway guests through preservation of life, property, and the environment.
