More than 30 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series haulers will rumble through the streets of Sacramento at the 3rd NASCAR Hauler Parade on Thursday, June 20.The NASCAR haulers, which will be en route to Sonoma Raceway for the 25th Toyota/Save Mart 350, June 21-23, will make their way over the Tower Bridge and around the State Capitol to greet Northern California NASCAR fans ready for big race in Sonoma.

Alamo's Jeff Abramson will start from the pole in two classes. He piloted his 1959 Morgan to the top spot in Group 2 (1955-1962 Production/GT under 2000cc) and his 1966 Lotus 23C in Group 11 (1959-1966 Sports Racing Cars).

For the first time ever, Northern California NASCAR fans can get on board the NASCAR Express train service to the Toyota/Save Mart 350 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series event at Sonoma Raceway.
The raceway has partnered with the Capitol Corridor Joint Powers Authority (CCJPA) to offer a first-of-its-kind express train that will transport fans directly from the Sacramento area to the raceway on race day, Sunday, June 23, 2013.

Richard Petty Motorsports teammates Marcos Ambrose and Aric Almirola completed a successful two-day test session at Sonoma Raceway on Wednesday. It marked the first significant test for NASCAR's new Gen-6 car on a road-course, and the first time the new car has visited the 10-turn, 1.99-mile Sonoma circuit.

Sonoma Raceway welcomes a new official sponsor as NASCAR debuts its redesigned road-course qualifying format at "Lean1 Pole Day" at the Toyota/Save Mart 350 Sprint Cup Series event in June, the raceway announced today. Lean1, a product of Nutrition53, will become title sponsor of NASCAR Sprint Cup Series pole day qualifying activities, which have been moved to Saturday, June 22.

The Sonoma Raceway road course will come alive with five days of two-wheel action at Sonomafest, May 1-5. Sonomafest 2013 will feature plenty of on-track action on the 12-turn road course, as well as a charity track day, group motorcycle ride and Supermoto racing. On track, fans will enjoy racing from American Federation of Motorcyclists (AFM), American Historic Racing Motorcycle Association (AHRMA) and 3J’s Track Days.

Sonoma Raceway and its fans helped local blood banks hit the jackpot on Monday as more than 100 people donated blood at the raceway’s 13th annual High-Speed Blood Drive. The raceway partnered with the American Red Cross and the Blood Centers of the Pacific on the drive, which generated 96 total pints of blood.

It seems like just yesterday Ricky Rudd and Rusty Wallace were swapping paint along the hillside at Turn 7 at the inaugural NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race in Sonoma in 1989. Rudd survived the battle and took the checkers by just .05 seconds over Wallace in what is still the closest margin of victory for a NASCAR Cup race at Sonoma Raceway.

The Classic Sports Racing Group (CSRG) kicks off its 46th season at Sonoma Raceway this weekend, April 6-7. Vintage car racing will take center stage in Sonoma with 150 to 200 vintage race cars set to grace the road course over the weekend. Fans can expect to see vintage Formula 1, prototype sports cars and production cars from the 1950’s, 60s and 70s, as well as select sports racing cars from the 1930s.

Six teams from the IZOD IndyCar® Series completed a one-day test session at Sonoma Raceway on Wednesday. Ten drivers took to the 12-turn, 2.38-mile road course in preparation for the GoPro Grand Prix of Sonoma, Aug. 23-25. It marked the first of three scheduled INDYCAR tests in Sonoma for the year, with the others slated for August, just days before the main event.

Race fans will be treated to a FREE INDYCAR test session on Wednesday, Feb. 27, at Sonoma Raceway. Six race teams are confirmed for the one-day test, highlighted by KV Racing Technology and drivers Tony Kanaan and Simona De Silvestro. Kanaan won the inaugural INDYCAR race in Sonoma in 2005 and was the 2004 series champion.

This auto-themed swap meet will feature vendors from the raceway’s Motorsports Industrial Park, as well as vendors selling a variety of vehicles, engine components and replacement body parts. Gates will be open from 7 a.m.-1 p.m. The event will take place in the main paddock area of the raceway, including the NASCAR garages.

The wait is finally over for anxious race fans as Sonoma Raceway has officially opened its ticket windows for the 2013 motor-racing season.
Tickets are now on sale for all major events on the 2013 calendar, including the Toyota/Save Mart 350 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series (June 21-23); NHRA Sonoma Nationals (July 26-28); GoPro Indy® Grand Prix of Sonoma (Aug. 23-25); and the FIA World Touring Car Championship (Sept. 7-8).

Engines were replaced by marchers, runners and even dogs on Saturday, Jan. 12, at Sonoma Raceway as more than 400 people turned out for the 2nd annual John's March Against Stomach Cancer fundraiser. The event was held in honor of John Cardinale, a long-time employee at Sonoma Raceway who was diagnosed with stomach cancer in February, 2011. Cardinale led the march of 425 people around the 12-turn, 2.52-mile road course at the event, which generated nearly $13,000.

The Sonoma Chapter of Speedway Children’s Charities will distribute $269,680 to 38 qualified youth organizations in Sonoma County for the 2012 season. The chapter's Board of Trustees recently approved the distribution of funds at its annual meeting. Speedway Children's Charities is the charitable arm of Speedway Motorsports, Inc., which owns and operates Sonoma Raceway.

Cancer picked the wrong guy, and for the second consecutive year that man will lead the charge in a charitable fundraiser for stomach cancer research and awareness at Sonoma Raceway. John Cardinale, a long-time employee at Sonoma Raceway, was diagnosed with Stage IV gastric cancer in March, 2011, and he will lead the 2nd annual John’s March Against Stomach Cancer on Saturday, Jan. 12, at the raceway.
