Historic Race Car Festival at Sebastiani Winery, May 18
Sonoma Raceway's celebration of fine food and wine will continue following the Sonoma Historic Motorsports Festival on Saturday, May 18, as the 21st annual Historic Race Car Festival returns to Sebastiani Winery.
All proceeds from the charity event will benefit the Sonoma Valley Education Foundation, the Sonoma Valley Visitors Bureau and Speedway Children's Charities, the charitable arm of Sonoma Raceway.
Locals and race fans alike will enjoy tastings from several local restaurants and wineries. In addition to the fine wine and food, attendees can enjoy a stroll through the winery and get an up-close look at more than 30 historic race cars which compete throughout the weekend at the Sonoma Historic Motorsports Festival at Sonoma Raceway, May 18-19.
The evening will feature samplings from a variety of local restaurants including Basque Boulangerie Cafe, Hopmonk Tavern, Murphy's Irish Pub, The Plaza Bistro, The Red Grape, The Swiss Hotel and more.
More than 10 local wineries, including Chandelle Winery, Deerfield Ranch Winery, Eric Ross Winery, Highway 12 Winery, Larson Winery, Matanzas Creek Winery, Roche Winery and VJB Vineyards and Cellars will complement the food with wine tastings.
The event will begin at 5 p.m. with a parade of 30 historic racecars departing under a full CHP escort from Sonoma Raceway. The parade of cars will motor along Highways 121 and Highway 12, and around the scenic Sonoma Plaza before arriving at Sebastiani Winery. They will then be parked at the entrance to the winery and on display for participants. You can even vote for your favorite car in two different categories.
The Historic Race Car Festival begins at 5:30 p.m. and tickets are $30 in advance of $35 at the festival. Call 800-870-RACE (7223) for more information or to order tickets.
