Sonoma Raceway Kicks-Off Heroes in Our Community Program

Sonoma Raceway, in partnership with Operation: Care & Comfort and the American Red Cross, will offer race fans a patriotic way to pay tribute to the brave men and women in our community through the "Heroes in our Community" program.

The raceway, Operation: Care & Comfort and the American Red Cross will distribute tickets to Sonoma Raceway's NASCAR and INDYCAR races to military families and veterans, as well as Red Cross volunteers and first responders throughout Northern California. In addition, special heroes will be recognized during pre-race ceremonies at the Toyota/Save Mart 350 (June 22), NHRA Sonoma Nationals (July 27), and GoPro Grand Prix of Sonoma (Aug. 24).

Show Your Support, Send a Hero to the Races!

Fans are encouraged to visit the Heroes in our Community booth at the Toyota/Save Mart 350 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series event (June 20-22), the NHRA Sonoma Nationals (July 25-27) and GoPro Grand Prix of Sonoma Verizon  INDYCAR Series (Aug 22-24). The booth will also be a hub where fans can sign banners thanking heroes for their service.  Both banners will be presented to Operation: Care & Comfort and the American Red Cross following Sonoma Raceway's major event season.

In addition, race fans will have the opportunity to say "thank you" to members of the Armed Forces, firefighters, police officers, sheriffs, California Highway Patrol members and first responders in a way they will never forget - by sending them to the races in Sonoma. For just $10, race fans can sponsor those who serve our communities and send them to the Toyota/Save Mart 350 or the GoPro Grand Prix of Sonoma.

NASCAR Weekend

Sonoma Raceway, Toyota, along with Save Mart and Lucky Supermarkets have teamed up to present the Hometown Heroes contest.  Fans can go to the Toyota Fan Zone, Save Mart or Lucky Facebook pages between May 2-June 16 to nominate and vote for their favorite Hometown Hero.  The winning Heroes will win a V.I.P. NASCAR weekend experience, including a chance to wave the green flag or be an Honorary Starter.

Fans can also sign up to honor heroes at the Hero Walk on Friday, June 20.  Take a mile-long walk to kick off race weekend with local military and first responder heroes.  Tickets are $25 and include Friday admission to the Toyota/Save Mart 350 and the Hero Walk.  A portion of the sales will go to Operation: Care & Comfort and the American Red Cross.

Active Duty Military
